BTS Isn’t the Only K-Pop Right Now [May, 2020]
There’s more to K-pop than just BTS—although I will admit that just about every song I hear from BTS is pretty good. But there are other songs coming out of South Korea right now that might be even better.
For instance, I’m haunted by Kim Pil. Listen to this song and tell me it isn’t crazy beautiful. Some songs are so emotionally touching that they feel unreal.
There’s also something quietly powerful (and strangely Western) about Go Away Go Away, a new song by EXO’s Chanyeol and Punch. I can’t stop listening to this song.
Overall, there were no less than 19 new K-pop songs I heard this month that I had to include on my iTunes playlist.
